(ABC 6 News) Rochester Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in Thursday's accident as 35-year-old Jack Scaccio of Rochester.

Police say Scaccio was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle while exiting Highway 14 going west onto West Circle Drive.

A driver reporter the accident around 8 a.m. after seeing Scaccio in the ditch near a retention pond. Police say it's unclear how long he had been lying there, but say there were signs that some time had passed.

A helmet was found at the scene, but Police are not sure if he was wearing it at the time.

This is the 37th fatal motorcycle accident in Minnesota this year. Out of the 37 fatalities more than 20 riders were not wearing a helmet.
