(ABC 6 News) - Mayo Clinic has finally settled the question of what it will call its two Rochester hospitals come the new year.
As we've reported, Rochester Methodist Hospital and Saint Marys Hospital will become a single legal entity and single licensed hospital on January 1, 2014. But until now, no one really knew what the new names would be.
The Rochester Methodist Hospital will become the "Methodist Campus" while the Saint Marys Hospital will become the "Saint Marys Campus".
Mayo officials say the new names incorporate the history of the two hospitals and will still help people find their way to the two different locations.
I know when you all covered the announcement of Saint Marys and Methodist Hospitals becoming a single licensed this past March campus identification came up as a question. We have a firm answer on that. The info below should help clarify.
Mayo says the single licensed hospital will better reflect Mayo's integrated hospital practice, ensure accurate reporting of data and reinforce Mayo's ability to prove the value of its care. An unwavering commitment to the founders' values will remain.
