ST. ANTHONY, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a chlorine and hydrochloric acid spill in St. Anthony has caused no danger beyond the immediate area.
But New Brighton Public Safety, one of the agencies that responded to the scene, says the area still has a foul smell because of the chemicals that spilled from a truck.
KSTP -TV (http://bit.ly/1eMCif7 ) reports there is no danger to nearby residents.
Officials say a truck operated by Horizon Commercial Pool Supply had just finished filling the chlorine tank for an apartment complex Thursday when a container leaked, spilling the acid for three or four blocks.
The driver noticed the leak quickly. Authorities secured a five-block area.
After monitoring the air, authorities determined there's no hazard beyond the immediate area. Some residents were asked to remain indoors because of the odor.
