(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A staffing shortage is behind the closure of Mayo Clinic Health System in Blooming Prairie.
Mayo calls the closure temporary, but it does not have a possible date of it reopening.
“We apologize for this inconvenience to our patients in Blooming Prairie,” says Tammy Kritzer, operations administrator. “We know this will change where patients receive their care, but we are confident they will receive the same high level of care at one of our nearby locations. There are several options for continued care through Mayo Clinic Health System in southern Minnesota including on our main campus in Austin and Owatonna, where patient medical records are available at any location through our Electronic Medical Record. We will do everything we can to make patients’ transitions of care to other locations as smooth as possible.”
Mayo says an already planned anti-coagulation clinic will still be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 and the pharmacy will stay open for the time being.
