Clear Lake State Park Beach
CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (AP) - A swimming advisory has been issued for Clear Lake and McIntosh Woods state parks in north-central Iowa.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports that the advisories were issued after a water sample showed elevated levels of E. coli bacteria. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the sampling was taken earlier this week.
The advisory does not mean the beaches are closed, but designed to warn anyone swimming to take additional precautions, including avoiding ingesting lake water.
