DUNKERTON, Iowa (AP) - The search is on for a high school student who is now considered a fugitive, after bringing a gun to a weekend football game against Riceville.
Dunkerton Community School District Superintendent Jim Stanton says administrators found the weapon Friday night.
Authorities are looking for 18-year-old Maryo Lindsey, who is suspended pending the outcome of an expulsion hearing. Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers released Lindsey's name and photo, saying he's a prior convicted felon.
The school district is now under a secure situation. It means only two doors are accessible, and they require that a visitor be buzzed in.
Stanton says there will be an increased presence from the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office at a football game scheduled for Tuesday.
