(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Dodge Center man involved in an armed standoff with sheriff's deputies learned Tuesday he'll spend 2.5 years in prison.
Roger "Rocky" Papenfus was charged with nine crimes. In April, he reached an agreement with prosecutors pleading guilty to two. They involved being a felon in possession of a firearm and discharging a weapon endangering public safety.
In November of 2012, Papenfus began firing a high-powered rifle at his apartment complex in Dodge Center. Multiple agencies were called in for a standoff that lasted around two hours. Papenfus eventually surrendered without anybody being hurt.
Papenfus does have a lengthy criminal history. We're told his mental condition was taken into consideration during sentencing.
