(ABC 6 NEWS) -- There is one thing on Marvin Heimer's mind when he steps on the field.
"I think of my team and how I need to play for them. It's not all about me, me, me; it's about the team," the Southland fullback said.
So if the saying is true - that good guys finish last - how did Heimer finish Friday's game against Kingsland with 159 yards on 9 carries?
"He's a different kid, in a good way. I don't mean that he's an arrogant young man. He's just doing more things at practice and we see more and more things out of him that now we just expect him to do on a daily, regular basis; play, after play, after play," said Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy.
One of the many thing fans saw out of Heimer on Friday night was an interception, one that caused a teammate to be a little upset with him.
"The thing is I went in for this one play to give Alex Ruechel a break and it was an interception and I returned it for a touchdown so Alex doesn't really like me right now," said Heimer.
But as much as Heimer likes to score touchdowns, he's just as satisfied playing a part in letting one of his teammates earn the glory.
"I kind of like blocking more. I like going outside and lead blocking for these guys and maybe getting a pancake on a guy," said Heimer.
