ST. PAUL, MN (AP) - Minnesota Republican Senate candidate Mike McFadden says he raised $700,000 for his campaign in the last three months, and has $1.2 million in the bank as he seeks to challenge incumbent Democratic Senator Al Franken next year.
McFadden's campaign released his third-quarter tally on Tuesday. He's one of five Republicans vying for the party nod to challenge Franken, and the first to release his most recent fundraising totals.
The other candidates are state lawmakers Julianne Ortman and Jim Abeler, St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg, and bison farmer Monti Moreno.
Franken has not yet released his latest tallies, but reported $3 million on hand as of July after raising nearly $2 million in each of the first two quarters of 2013.
