Four months ago, two tornadoes, including a strong EF3, touched down and cause a lot of damage to the city of Belmond, Iowa.
These tornadoes left behind a lot of structural debris plus a number of downed trees.
After waiting for some ground areas around the East Iowa River to dry up, the city is now gearing up for a major clean up effort, which is scheduled for next Saturday.
Volunteers are needed to gather debris from pastures, the woods, and the East Branch of the Iowa River.
If you would like to help out, meet at the former Cattlemen's Restaurant at US Highway 69 and C-20.
To volunteer, call the Belmond City Hall at 641-444-3386.
