(ABC 6 News) -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) was in Keister Sunday afternoon regarding the farm bill.

“It creates a safety net that our farmers need,” said Klobuchar.

She firmly believes the proposed farm bill will pass this time. According to her, the bill would:

“Without a farm bill, there’s no certainty as what types of risk management tools do we have, what kinds of safety nets are there. It’s not just for farm, it’s also for food,” said Kevin Paap, President of the Minnesota Farm Bureau.

Klobuchar believes this bill would also cut the deficit, and that Senate Republicans are starting to jump on board.

“We’re starting to see people in Washington that don’t really care about the farm bill realize not only is this good for farmers, it’s good for reducing the debt if we get this done,” said Klobuchar.
