(ABC 6 News) -- It's been identified as one of the greatest needs in the community. Now, that need might be met.
This is the new Apple Lane Early Childhood Education Center at Riverland Community College in Austin. It's a $3 million project funded largely by the Hormel Foundation.
The center opened this fall. It currently has an enrollment of 220 kids, ranging in age from six weeks to 12 years.
"Any time you have two kids you can just come here, it's a one-stop drop, it works well for all parents," Apple Lane Parent Tonia Peters said. "The Montessori is a huge draw, I think. My son absolutely loves it."
An open house will be held at the Apple Lane Child Care Center tomorrow from 6 to 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.
