MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The mother of a missing Minnesota boy still holds out hope he will be found, 24 years after his disappearance.
Jacob Wetterling was 11 when he was abducted by a masked gunman near his St. Joseph home on Oct. 22, 1989. He has not been seen since and the case remains unsolved.
Jacob's mother, Patty Wetterling, tells WCCO-TV, "We have no proof that Jacob is not alive. I will always hope."
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has released a photo of what 35-year-old Jacob could look like.
In honor of Jacob, the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center is asking people to leave their porch lights on Tuesday night.
