(ABC 6 NEWS) -- It's been nearly a month since the health insurance exchange roll out. Yet, there is still lots of confusion surrounding the issue. Experts say more people need to reach out and educate themselves on the issue.
With the affordable care act roll out even the experts on insurance have faced a steep learning curve
"I'm learning as I go too, this is all stuff that's new to us in my field, It's crazy change," said Insurance Broker Bill Nystrom.
Nystrom says change can be difficult, and he says the changes from the Affordable Care Act have come with a bit of shock.
"We're just seeing a big reaction, because most of our clients are seeing big price increases or premium increases,” said Nystrom.
Scott Keefer of Blue Cross Blue Shield says it's not just those that will be signing up though MNsure who should be paying attention.
"Because there are so many changes, we are encouraging people that they take a very careful look," said Keefer.
He says the different prices are based on the fact that there are much different requirements.
"The Affordable Care Act allows for health to vary only on four factors where which are geography, age, tobacco usage, and family size, and that's very different that someone with existing conditions and risk factors," said Keefer.
Nystrom says it's a learning process for everyone.
"Personally, I think insurance companies don't even know what to charge," said Nystrom.
His advice for everyone to seek some.
"Call the MNsure website hotline, call an agent or a broker, that would be my big advice, let them help you," said Nystrom.
