DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will leave for China this weekend to speak at a forum in Shanghai.
The governor's office says in a news release that Reynolds will depart Sunday and then be the featured speaker Tuesday at the World Forum for Direct Investment's opening panel.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority also has scheduled other business meetings for Reynolds while she's in China.
Reynolds says in a statement that the conference and other meetings would continue an effort to establish ties between Iowa and China.
Reynolds will return to Iowa on Wednesday.
The roughly $8,500 cost of the trip will be covered by the Iowa Economic Development Foundation.
