(ABC 6 News) -- This week we are featuring a teacher from Rochester STEM Academy.
Ryan todd loves history.
"One of the things I thought my whole life, was that I really enjoyed history, hopefully they can pass that on to the next generation to people the importance of history and our past," says Todd.
Mr. Todd has been teaching for eight years, the past two and half years at Rochester STEM Academy.
"I have a lot more freedom to teach what I want, when I want and how I want as long as I am focused on making sure that state standards are covered," says Todd on teaching in charter schools.
From civics to economics, Todd tries to incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in his lessons, he also want students to walk away with life skills.
"Being able to make sure that I can make a difference in their lives talking about not only the content, but trying to make kids better when they leave here."
