Man Breaks into Rochester Home, Leaves Trail of Blood

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A scary morning for a Rochester homeowner after they come home to find glass and blood all over their house.

According to the Rochester Police Department a resident living on the 1500 block of 13th Ave N.W. called police around 3 a.m. Sunday morning saying someone had broken into their home. Inside officers found blood smears on the walls and floor, and the front door’s window had been bashed in. 

Also inside the home was a wallet belonging to the apparent suspect. Using the I.D. that was inside the wallet officers tracked the suspect down to Saint Marys Hospital.

The suspect  claimed that he had been drunk and thought he was at his girlfriend’s house. He said that he was sorry and that he had crashed the window in thinking his girlfriend had locked him out of the home.

The suspect had several deep cuts on his arms that did require stiches. A friend had driven him to the hospital.

He is facing possible damage to property charges.
