Kwik Trip Employee Admits to Stealing $1,100

(ABC 6 News) - Police say an employee, working at the Kwik Trip in Eyota, admitted to stealing more than $1,100 in cash from the gas station.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department says a member of Kwik Trip’s loss prevention team called to report the theft Friday morning. By deputies say, by the time they got there, the employee had admitted to stealing the money.

The employee allegedly stole $1,120 dollars in cash over six weeks. They also allegedly stole ten packs of cigarettes worth more than $80 dollars.

The sheriff’s department says the employee had worked at the gas station for nearly a year.

The case has been referred to the county attorney’s office for felony theft charges.
