ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) - At least two of the three surviving children pulled from a pond in St. Louis Park are apparently showing signs of improvement at a Twin Cities hospital.
Family attorney Rick Petry says 5-year-old Amani Coleman-Guerrido and 1-year-old Aliyana Rennie have recognized the voices of family members. Petry did not have an update on the condition of 6-year-old Zarihana Rennie, who also remains hospitalized.
Two other children died when the car in which they were riding veered off a highway ramp and into the water last Thursday. The Star Tribune says the mother of three of the children, Marion Guerrido, was taking the youngsters to school or day care when the accident occurred.
Five-year-old Zenavia Rennie and Alarious Coleman-Guerrido died after the car landed in the frigid holding pond.
