(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The owner of Watts Cooking and the Pilot Travel Center says a company has purchased the building and it will stay in business.
Earlier this month Kermit Watts said he was closing the building. He told ABC 6 News it was a financial decision, but he was in talks with a buyer. If that didn't go through the truck stop would close on New Year's Eve.Watts has now told the Austin City Council that a company has purchased the business to keep the doors open.
He says the travel plaza will be redeveloped in 2014, and it will remain open during construction.
