(ABC 6 NEWS) - A Rochester woman had to be taken to the hospital New Year’s Eve after a stabbing in south east Rochester.

According to police Timothy Ryan stabbed a woman several times in the leg after she allegedly wouldn’t leave his home. Police were called to Ryan’s home in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. S.E. just after two a.m.

The woman had several stab wounds to her leg. Police say Ryan used a 12 inch butcher’s knife.

Police say the woman had been invited over by another resident. Ryan apparently didn’t like the woman and had asked her to leave when he stabbed her.

He is facing charges of 2nd degree assault.
