Midwest Alert: Escaped Quadruple Murderer Still At Large

(ABC News) - A convicted quadruple-murderer is on the loose this morning after escaping
from prison in Michigan. Corrections officials also confirm to ABC News that Michael Elliot also abducting a woman.

Officials say Elliot escaped from the Ionia Correctional Facility Sunday around 9:30pm before driving to Indiana. Elliot abducted a woman with a knife or box cutter before driving with her
to Elkhart, Indiana, where they stopped for gas. It was there that the woman was
able to escape and call 911. However, Elliot remains at large.

Michigan State Police said officials are looking for the woman's red 2004 Jeep Liberty 4-door. While no official account of Elliot's escape has been given, Michigan Department of Corrections confirms to ABC News that prison officials discovered a hole in a fence of the grounds.

Elliot was convicted of murdering 4 people on Aug. 8, 1993 and is serving 4 life sentences.
