(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The Kasson-Mantorville Komets don't just have a single player who consistently scores 20-plus points a night.
What they do have is a team that shares the scoring responsibilities.
"On a scouting report, I don't know who you'd worry about the most," said assistant coach Slone Suess.
"One person's not having a good game, and someone picks them up and has a big night like the other night," said junior Danika Hodgman.
The other night, Hodgman scored 23 points in the Komets regular season finale, a 71-34 win over Stewartville.
"It was a really good feeling, especially going into the playoffs," said Hodgman.
As a post player, Danika knows how to score in the paint, but stepping out and shooting threes is something she has never done before, until last week.
"I stepped out of my range. Coach set up a 3-point play for me and I got to hit two 3s; the first time this year," said Hodgman.
"She seems like she's playing with a lot of confidence lately. She works hard, she does the little things, and she always finds a way to contribute" said Suess.
The Komets grabbed the number one seed in Section 1AAA, but Danika said their work is far from over.
"It's really good to have it secured, but we still have to stay focused. It's a big deal, only three games away from state. I know that's been our goal for a long time," said Hodgman.
