(ABC 6 NEWS) -- When NRHEG and Kenyon-Wanamingo played in January, many thought it could be a preview of the Class 2A title game.
They were right.
Carlie Wagner set another state record in NRHEG's 87-58 win over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, and Kenyon-Wanamingo blew out Esko 60-36, setting up another showdown between the two top-ranked teams in 2A.
Wagner broke Janet Karvonen's mark of 329 career points in state tournament play, dropping 41 on an overmatched HL-W-W squad.
The Panthers beat K-W by seven two months, handing the Knights their only loss of the season.
NRHEG enters the championship game unbeaten, and searching for the second state title in a row.
