(ABC 6 News) --- Another big day for girls basketball up at the State Championsips at the Target Center.

We had two area teams play for the Class 2A Championships today – Kenyon-Wanamingo taking on defending state champions New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.

The Panthers dominated most of the game. Carlie Wagner was on fire from beyond the arc in the second half. She finished with 6 three-pointers and 36 total points.

The Knights climbed back within 7 late in the game. But NRHEG was able to hang on to win 71-61 and earn their second consecutive state title.

And throughout the state run, Carlie Wagner has broken quite a few records.

In last night’s semi-final game, Wagner became the all-time leading scorer in girls basketball state history.

She also broke Janet Karvonen’s record for most points scored in state tournament play.

Karvonen played in four state championships and scored 329.

In last night’s semi-final game, Wagner scored 41 to give her a total of 335.
