(ABC 6 News) -- This week we honor an elementary school teacher from Rochester.
"It feels wonderful, " says Cara Lane, "I've been here 22 years and its a wonderful place to work at."
Cara Lane is talking about Pinewood Elementary where she is currently a third grade teacher.
"It's fun to see the kids grow up at Pinewood," says Lane. At the end of each school year the elementary school invites their seniors to come back for a reunion.
"It's so fun to see how they've turned out and what their plans are for the next year," she says.
When asked what she's learned most about herself over the last two decades, she tells us she is still learning something new everyday.
"I work just as hard as I did that first year," says Lane.
And working is easy when you have the right people surrounding you, "we have great students, families, and we have great staff here, we're like family here."
