(ABC 6 News) - Don't leave your car unlocked.
That's the advice from the Rochester Police Department after several car break-ins in the northeast side of the city.
Police say they've received two recent reports of cars that have been broken into in neighborhoods on the west side of Quarry Hill Park. They say a laptop and GPS gear were stolen. They also say at least one of the cars was unlocked.
A person claiming to be a third victim, called ABC 6 News to report that her car had also been broken into. She lives in the area near Jefferson Elementary and Century High School and says her car was broken into sometime early this morning. She doesn't think her car was unlocked, but says it was parked in the driveway. She says a small amount of money was stolen.
She wanted to warn other nearby residents of the recent thefts in the hopes they'll take the proper precautions.
