(ABC 6 NEWS) -- "It would mean everything. This is what I have been working toward for the last five years," Kaylea Schorr said.

After losing in the state championship game last season, the Kasson-Mantorville senior took it upon herself to make sure her team made it back to the state tournament.
"I've just been working very hard and it's just kind of all paying off," said Schorr.

In the section tournament last week, Kaylea went 7-for-8, with a walk, double, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"She's always the one that we can count on if we need a big at bat. Kaylea Schorr is the one that going to deliver that," Komets head coach Jeff Fague said.

"It was a big goal of mine as a leadoff hitter to set the tone for the game and bring my teammates up right away," said Schorr.

She says her secret to success is not thinking about anything at the plate.
"I tend to overthink things, so I just kind of zero in on the ball and try not to think about anything too much," said Schorr.

The Komets are now just three wins away from a state championship, and Kaylea can't think of a better way to end her final season with the Komets.

"We've practiced every day for this point in time and we're just ready to take it this time," said Schorr.
