(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Three people were inside their Kasson home Thursday when an explosion occurred around 9 a.m. along County Road 34.

"Regular day, we didn't smell anything funny, because that's what everybody's been asking us. If we smelt gas or anything, I didn't smell anything," said Salina Tschida.

Tschida was upstairs with her two daughters, Buenvanida and Alana when the explosion happened.

"Made my grocery list and I went upstairs and not even 30 second later, huge explosion," said Tschida.

Fortunately, everyone managed to make it out of the house safely.

"If I had stayed downstairs for 20 seconds more, I probably would have been hauled away in an ambulance," said Tschida.

Sandy Gilbertson received a call from her son, Alan Gilbertson, right after the explosion happened.

"He said, ‘Drop whatever you're doing, get out to my house.” I said, ‘Okay give me a minute.’ He said, ‘No minutes, my house just exploded,’" said Gilbertson.

As for the neighborhood, officials say the situation is under control.

"We don't believe there's any danger to anyone else," said Dodge County Sheriff Jim Jensen.

The family is now moving on with little left behind, but grateful everyone is okay.

"I don't know… how we didn't get hurt or anything. Everything fell off the walls, cracked walls… it's pretty much demolished in there," said Tschida.

The State Fire Marshal was at the scene this morning to determine if the home is safe to enter. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
