Sarah Swistek recently joined ABC 6 News as Senior Reporter and Weekend Anchor. She is a proud alum of Michigan State University and Phi Sigma Pi where she graduated in December 2005 with a degree in Journalism and American Sign Language, and was one of only six in her graduating class to have a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Before moving to Minnesota, Sarah worked as an Anchor, Reporter and Producer for KTVM-TV in Southwest Montana. In October 2007, the Montana Associated Press awarded Sarah with an Honorable Mention in the category of "News Writing" for her piece "Dog Ban", covering Butte-Silver Bow's ban on animals in public parks. This was also a milestone for KTVM, because it was the first time in the station's history that anyone received an individual award.
The highlight of Sarah's career so far, was in December 2007, when she made her national television debut in a series of live cut-ins on MSNBC, for Evel Knievel's funeral. Just two months later, she landed a regional cut-in on Nightly News with Brian Williams for her coverage of Super Tuesday.
When she's not busy at ABC 6 News, you can catch Sarah spending time with her Cocker Spaniel, Janie, keeping in touch with family and friends, or doing something crafty.
