Qualifications:
Previous professional experience in news gathering helpful but not required. Ideal candidate has experience with ENPS and AVID editing. Candidate must have strong news judgment and writing skills; ability to shoot, write and edit a news story; ability to deliver the news story from the field or the news desk. Must have a clean driving record.

This multi-media journalist position is located in the Roswell, NM bureau of KOB-TV, an Albuquerque based TV station. The MMJ teleconferences into the daily editorial meeting in Albuquerque and is responsible for pitching story ideas relevant to the Southern New Mexico viewing area. Once story assignments are approved, the MMJ will research story, set-up interviews, shoot, write and edit the piece and deliver the story either live in the field or from the Roswell news desk. Must be willing to drive long distances and have the ability to work on tight deadlines. Occasionally must travel to Albuquerque to fill-in report from main studio. Bureau Chief will have a high profile presence in the community to enhance KOB's profile in Roswell. The last two Roswell Bureau Chiefs moved to Albuquerque as full-time General Assignment reporters. We love to promote from within. |
