Website giant Yahoo! has apologized to the city of Albuquerque for printing inaccurate information in a story on its website about the city's police department.

The article alleged that an Albuquerque Police Department officer Tased a 10-year-old boy, however, the boy is actually alleged to have been Tased by a New Mexico motor transportation office in Tularosa.

The allegations are part of a lawsuit filed by the boy's family.

According to the city's website, "The department had no involvement whatsoever and this incident occurred in a Southern New Mexico community, hundreds of miles outside of Albuquerque."

Yahoo! apologized for the article as well as posting an image of the department's patch. The errors were corrected, but not before upwards of 11,000 people saw and commented on the original story and blamed the department for the incident, the city's website states.
