A 7th grade class from Roosevelt Middle School took over an Albuquerque Costco Wednesday morning.
They split into groups, stacking food onto flatbeds. It's enough to feed 24 families ahead of this Thanksgiving.
The students raised money for the project by writing letters to relatives and local businesses.
While the project is a lesson in persuasive writing, their teacher said it's about much more than that.
"To experience what it's like to give to people in need. Not just talk about it, but to put it into action," Fran Proce said.
That life lesson seems to be hitting home for her students.
