ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A woman accused of working with two other Santa Fe County jail inmates to sexually assault another inmate while looking for drugs has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to 18 months for the attack.
The Albuquerque Journal reports that 44-year-old Juanita Martinez of Santa Fe had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of felony aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.
Martinez is one of three inmates accused of holding down another inmate in October 2011 and searching one of her body cavities for drugs.
Investigators alleged that after the victim was lured into a cell, Juanita Martinez asked her for drugs.
The woman said she didn't have any drugs and tried to leave, but was pushed back and held in place while the others searched her.
