There could soon be an app to help New Mexico farmers with watering during the drought.
A New Mexico State University engineering professor is working on the app that will help farmers figure out when and how they should water their crops.
The app's goal is to help farmers set up more efficient irrigation schedules.
The software developer for the app says they're still working on how to incorporate real-time climate data.
New Mexico farmers have been struggling with drought for the past two years.
