If you're looking to take a break from all that holiday eating, Best Bites has just the place.
A Santa Fe restaurant has just branched out to Albuquerque.
At Vinaigrette, salad isn't something you get on a tiny, little plate to hold you over before the main dish arrives - it's a meal in itself.
"Vinaigrette is just about making healthy eating really joyful and fun," says owner Erin Wade.
The restaurant, located on Central a few blocks east of Rio Grande, serves up hearty salads, sandwiches and several side dishes.
On the menu, you'll find dishes like the Cherry Tart salad.
"The cherry tart is peppery arugula, dried cherries, feta cheese, toasted pecans and we've got this tangy champagne vinaigrette," explains Wade.
In season right now, the Harvest Moon salad. It's made of raw kale, red onion, fresh apples, chicken that's roasted every morning and topped with chicken dripping lemon drop dressing as well as sage croutons cooked with duck fat.
"We have diver scallops, grilled chicken, flank steak, we have all sorts of carnivore friendly items," says Wade of the meat selection. Getting back to the veggies, most of those come from Wade's farm in Nambe.
"About half the year we're doing almost 70% of the produce for the Santa Fe restaurant," says Wade.
The rest come fresh from other farms with a promise to be local and organic, for healthy yet hearty food that will make you feel good about eating it.
