Family and friends of Saul Sanchez, a father of three and golf pro who was well-known throughout Roswell, are mourning his loss and remembering his life and legacy.
“Anywhere he'd go people always recognized him for the personality that he had and just the brightness that he brought along with him,” Sanchez's sister Sonya Garcia said. “He was very giving, willing to do anything for anybody, very friendly, approachable.”
Sanchez was shot while confronting a burglar in a home on the 1500 block of West 2nd on December 11. As of now, Roswell Police have no suspects in custody, though they believe the suspect was 6 feet tall and wearing a hoodie and mask to conceal his identity.
“Saul was a great family man, started off small and was great in all athletics, but his real niche was in golf,” brother-in-law Michael Garcia said. “He pursued that, and got his PGA license.”
Family and friends will remember Sanchez with a ceremony open to the community at the Roswell Civic Center on Monday, December 19 at 1 p.m. They ask that in lieu of flowers, you make donations to a foundation for the family, using the following account information:
First American Bank
Saul & Betty Sanchez
The family thanks the community for their outpouring of support during this difficult time.
