Residents in Santa Fe are still trying to catch up after Sunday's winter storm, and before the second storm of the season hits Thursday night.
The demand is keeping heating and plumbing businesses very busy. The crew at Aranda's Plumbing, Heating, and Supply said since last week, their service calls have doubled.
They are trying to fit in as many clients as possible to get people heat before the next storm hits.
"We need the weather for business, absolutely. The weather to us, the winter time is a huge market for us," Patrick Aranda said.
Rick Trujillo lost heat Thursday morning. Trujillo was trying to get back up and running before the temperatures dropped again.
"It's a little chilly. The fireplace will take care of it so I'm going to pick up a load of wood right now and that will take care of it tonight," Trujillo said. "Hopefully these guys can come out tomorrow and get us taken care of."
Patrick Aranda said some simple tips to keep things running smoothly are to clean out or replace your furnace filter. He also said to cover your outdoor pipes, disconnect your outdoor hose and cover the faucet so it does not freeze.
