Friends are speaking out about their friend Marc Meltzer, the man who committed suicide after pointing a gun at another man and pulling the trigger.
The manager at the Premier Motel off Central Avenue said Marc Meltzer pointed a gun at him Wednesday and fired. he said the gun didn't go off because the clip wasn't installed properly. The manager escaped with his life. Meltzer then shot and killed himself after being chased by police.
Friends of Meltzer said they want people to know that he wasn't some crazy person all of his life. They said he became extremely paranoid in the last six months.
Friend Todd Jacobsen said Meltzer didn't even stay at his own home because he was afraid of it. "He thought people were trying to kill him. He thought at one point someone sabotaged his furnace so it would explode," Jacobsen told KOB Eyewitness News 4 Thursday. "He would see people and creatures in his house," Jacobsen added.
Jacobsen said friends tried to get Meltzer help but said he didn't want it. He said his friend even avoided people because he was worried they would get his mental illness.
