On these cold December days, we all want to eat something warm and comforting.

Wasabi Japanese Cuisine just opened up about six months ago on Tramway north of I-40.

The restaurant specializes in what it calls "Japanese comfort food." Some of those comforting foods including their specialty udon noodle bowl made with gluten-free, handmade noodles.

There's also the yaki-udon stir fry noodles.

One dish you really have to try is the pork belly slice donburri.

You may think pork belly will really fill up your belly but that's not the case with the food at Wasabi.

"It's basically easy food, easy on your stomach. Nothing that's going to feel overly fulfilling to the point where you feel like 'oh I ate too much of that'," says Wasabi owner, Dara Mingkhamsavath.

Wasabi also serves up other Japanese favorites, like sushi.
