If you are planning on celebrating New Year's Eve tonight by having a drink - it is important to make sure you have a safe ride home.

One option is AAA's Tipsy Tow service - a free service where workers will tow you and your car home.  Tipsy Tow will run tonight from 6 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. All you have to do is call 1-800-AAA-HELP. They will tow your car home - up to 10 miles. They will not, however, take passengers.

Another service that's available to those who've had too much to drink is the Tavern Taxi program in Bernalillo County. The free service will pick you up from your house, take you to a bar and then pick up up to take you home. You can call and make a reservation starting at 1 p.m. today. The service will run from 5 tonight until 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.

If you're in Santa Fe, you can catch a pretty cheap cab ride. The county's DWI program will be offering $1 cab rides tonight. You can call to get a ride home until 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The number is 505-999-1400.

If you think you're going to drink and drive tonight, here's something else you should know. A lot of deputies will be out on the streets tonight, looking for drunk drivers. The Bernalillo County Sheriff Department says they'll be holding more checkpoints and saturation patrols. Deputies will also be checking for driver's licenses, insurance and seatbelt violations.
