Police have identified the man who they say led them on a high-speed chase through parts of Albuquerque Thursday.
The chase and the man's capture were carried live on KOB-TV.
He is Daniel Archuleta, who police say was driving an SUV that had been reported stolen on Dec. 18.
Police encountered Archuleta after they arrived at Blake’s on Lomas and Pennsylvania to investigate a possible robbery suspect who they believed was about to strike another restaurant.
That’s when Archuleta sped away in the SUV.
Police followed the SUV as it drove into the Foothills area, where a passenger was dropped off near Central and Dorado NE.
The SUV continued driving recklessly into southeast Albuquerque.
Archuleta finally pulled into a driveway in the 400 block of Carlisle Blvd SE, where he was taken into custody.
He faces charges of receiving or transferring of a stolen vehicle.
Archuleta has a long criminal record.
He was charged with burglary in 2000, armed robbery in 2003, possession of a stolen vehicle in 2008 and aggravated burglary and drug possession in 2012.
