Today is National Wear Red Day, an event designed by the American Heart Association to raise awareness about heart disease – the number one killer of women.

The heart association started the campaign 10 years ago.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry and others gathered at Civic Plaza at noon Friday to bring attention to the public health measure.
