SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez is traveling to the nation's capital for a meeting of the National Governors' Association.
A Martinez spokesman said the governor will head to Washington, D.C. on Thursday. The meeting of the nation's governors starts Friday.
Martinez will return to New Mexico on Sunday.
Martinez spokesman Enrique Knell said Wednesday the governor also plans to meet in Washington with officials of the National Nuclear Security Administration to talk about funding for the national laboratories in New Mexico.
