A New Mexico sheriff suspended for how he handled a drunk driving arrest is now facing criminal charges in an unrelated case.
Mora County Sheriff Thomas Garza was accused of letting a DWI suspect go. He was suspended for four months after that incident.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 has learned Garza is now also accused of telling a deputy to lie on a police report in a burglary case.
He allegedly told the deputy it was to protect the suspect who told them where to find stolen guns.
