North Valley bomb scare turns dud, residents allowed back into homes

Residents in a North Valley neighborhood can return to their homes after a bomb scare turned out to be a dud.

The suspicious package was actually a fake grenade, sheriff deputies said. 

4th Street is reopened now between Robin Meadows and Homesite.

Deputies found a suspicious package while serving a warrant at a person's home in the area. 


A North Valley neighborhood in Albuquerque has been evacuated as sheriff deputies investigate a suspicious package found a person’s home.

4th Street is currently closed between Robin Meadows and Homesite.

Deputies discovered a suspicious device while serving a warrant, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Aaron Williamson said.

4th Street will be closed for the next few hours.

Any resident that is displaced can go to the Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center.
