Valerie Guzman, who claimed she escaped from UNM Hospital because a guard fell asleep, has been captured.
Guzman contacted KOB Eyewitness News 4 two weeks ago after her escape and said at the time she was planning on turning herself in but never did.
APD told KOB they got a tip that Guzman was in Southeast Albuquerque.
She was arrested at a University Avenue motel.
Guzman had been taken to UNMH after ingesting heroin.
KOB will have more on this story during Wednesday morning's newscasts.
