Albuquerque Police Department detectives were shot at by a person while doing felony probation surveillance on Saturday.
A vehicle fled the scene in the Northeast Heights and led police on a chase before the suspects crashed at Eubank and Interstate 40, APD officer Robert Gibbs said.
Felix Romero, 30, was the person wanted for numerous probation violations, GIbbs said Romero cut off his court mandated ankle monitor last week.
Glenn Garcia, 23, was a passenger in the vehicle. It’s still unclear who fired the gun shots at police.
The area is currently blocked off by police and drivers should seek an alternate route.
No one was struck by the gunfire and it appears all officers are fine.
