An investigation continues Monday into a fire that broke out Sunday in the Sandia foothills.

Firefighters contained the fire overnight. The cause was not immediately known.

The fire burned in rough, remote terrain and firefighters also experienced cold temperatures while fighting the fire.

No one was injured in the fire, which was still smoldering Monday morning.

AFD Chief James Breen held a news conference Monday at the site of the fire to warn about coming extreme fire danger.
