What started off as a routine bus drop off on the way home from school was anything but.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 was alerted to a YouTube video called "shiprock bus fight.”

The video has since been taken down, but the Central Consolidated School District is still looking into what happened.

The video starts with a fight between two students on a stopped school bus. We've blurred the faces but you can see both kids are throwing punches. The fight goes on until the mother of the smaller boy gets on the bus.

"You leave my son alone. You've been picking on him ever since Monday,” she said.

But she doesn't break up the fight, she starts hitting the other boy. As the boy’s mother continues to go after the boy you can hear other students egging on the fight.

"I'm filing charges against you you're just a bully on this bus," she yells.

The video doesn't tell us where the kids went to school, so KOB went to the Central Consolidated school District, looking for answers.

Officials from the school district refused to go on camera, but in an email they said

they’re investigating the incident--- and that measures have been taken--- but they wouldn't say what those measures where.

They say during the fight the bus driver called police and district transportation for help.

The video ends as the mom tries to take the camera away from the student who's shooting the video.

The school district said it takes the well-being and safety of their students seriously.

We learned that the mother in this video also worked as a substitute bus driver. After this incident, the school district terminated her from that position.
